Information about student projects in astronomy

We have several on-going research projects, most involving students. The links below will lead you to descriptions of some of those projects.

David Cohen does laboratory experiments and x-ray observations to study the winds from massive stars and other cosmic x-ray sources. You can also see what his student research group is up to.

Eric Jensen studies the formation of planets in binary systems, and is completing a search for nearby, young stars.

John Gaustad has completed an H-alpha survey of the entire southern sky to map the distribution of interstellar hydrogen gas.

Michael Brown studies plasma like that found on the Sun.
