Announcements

We'll have a regular class meeting next Wednesday, right before Thanksgiving break. We'll start a bit earlier than usual - at 1:15 - and end correspondingly earlier. We're also back to the usual scheme of having the homework due the afternoon before class.

Read all of Ch. 7 of Nutshell, as well as the first three sections of Ch. 8 (up through page 202).

Upcoming Events

Check the departmental colloquium schedule. You should come to all of these talks!

There are telescope public viewings the second Tuesday of each month, at the new Peter van de Kamp Observatory. And for the rest of October and November, we're holding an open house every Tuesday to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy. The next one is on November 24, at 8 PM. Further information is available.
